Crazy King Productions began as a small family of storytellers in Northern California. In 2025 we reimagined the work as a media arts nonprofit — producing original films, podcasts, and documentaries while opening every step of the process to emerging voices.

Who we are
From production work to a creative home for others.
What started as Janine Douglas King’s family production business has evolved into something bigger: a creative home for emerging filmmakers, podcasters, photographers, and writers across Northern California.
Today, Crazy King Production produces original films, podcasts, and documentaries — and we mentor the next generation of storytellers through Emerging Voices, our flagship youth and artist development initiative.
We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a working production company. Both halves fund each other. Both halves serve the same mission.
Our Mission
“We create compelling films, podcasts, documentaries, and visual media that inspire dialogue — while cultivating emerging storytellers through mentorship, professional collaboration, and deep community engagement.”
“To become a leading Northern California media arts organization recognized for artistically excellent work — and for opening pathways for storytellers whose voices have historically been underrepresented.”

Why media arts matter
Arts programs are disappearing.
We're building one in their place.
Across California, school arts programs continue to be cut — exactly when young people need creative pathways the most. Storytelling teaches kids more than software. It teaches them to listen, frame a perspective, and put their voice into the world with intention.
CKP exists to keep those doors open. Through Emerging Voices, school partnerships, and youth-led productions, we make sure the next generation of Sacramento storytellers has somewhere to learn, build, and ship real work.
